Dr. Matthew Mason
Dr. Matthew Mason has been providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and related needs for more than twenty-five years. Dr. Mason is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he was awarded the prestigious Creative Scholar Award. He is both a licensed psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. His expertise spans education, mental and behavioral health, trauma-informed care, forensic services and treatment foster care. Dr. Mason has worked with children and adults in a variety of settings, and has a special focus on individuals with co-occurring conditions and trauma informed care. Early in his career, Dr. Mason provided services as a direct support staff member, and his experiences and expertise continues to be influenced by the important practical aspect of delivering care and addressing recovery. Dr. Mason has held a variety of leadership positions in the public and private sectors, including residential schools, child welfare, community-based care, and mental health facilities. His consultation efforts have focused on standards of institutional care, transitioning to the community and on compliance with Federal and State licensing. Dr. Mason was previously the Clinical Director at Georgetown University’s Center for Child and Human Development in Washington, DC, as part of the University’s Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
